March Market
March 19th 2007
9pm est/8pm cst/6pm pst
Room: The Twisting Blade
While winter was still winning against spring in most of RhyDin, the warmer clime of Crowsea allowed the foot steps of spring to fall more heavily. There was still a chill in the air at nights, so this market would be held indoors in the Twisting Blade in Crowsea. Usually an establishment for fighting, eating, and drinking, tonight it was transformed by flowers, magic, and creativity into a little paradise of full spring.
The West(left) entrance is the main entrance to the establishment while the East(right) entrance is for any goods that are large or difficult to carry. Either way, upon entering the establishment one isn't hit with the usual mixture of sweat and mead and blood and fish, but the smell of flowers(green). Daffodils, Hyacinths, Tulips, and Freesia all in various hues had been laboriously brought in to brighten the atmosphere. In pots they line the walk through the usual eating section of the tavern(silver) to where the market had been set up(dark grey). Planted in sunken sections of the main floor area, it appears that enough earth had been brought in to temporarily give the flowers a comfortable bed. Additional sections of the floor(blue) had been sunken and filled with water. Curiously a little fountain bubbles forth in each, providing soothing background noise. Little candles float in each pool, giving off little stars of light. Otherwise lighting is provided by magic globes floating near the ceiling, brightening the place more than usual. There are no exterior windows in the market area. The floor of the market area is stone, marked off in sections that seem almost perfectly 4x4 feet square. Around the perimeter of the area usually used for fighting 30 tables are set up for use by vendors. Each table is approximately 8 feet long and 3 feet across. Between each vendor area long sheets of gaze-like fabric in various green hues had been hung for privacy if desired. These can be easily gathered and tied against the walls if two neighboring vendors don't wish to be separated. The private areas of the establishment have been also marked off by these sheets, requesting privacy while not demanding it(black). Amongst the flowers and fountains, tables had been set up for any who wished simple to gather and chat while watching the people around them shop. |
